The Postman Never Knocks Just Once

April 27, 2010

In accordance with the principles of capitalism, we have decided to make available once more to the world our critically acclaimed debut long-playing vinyl record.  The record is entitled “Anger” and was originally released under our own auspices in the sultry summer of 2006.  Long out of print, we decided that there was no better time than now for these tunes to crowd your growing eBay-bound stack of goods and wares.   This time around the record will be overseen by the Vitriol Records imprint which, for full disclosure, is owned and operated by our very own Justin Smith.  Here is what the record cover will look like:

Our more astute fans will notice that the red accents of the first press have been replaced by blue accents.  The record will also feature a see-through blue hue for this version.  Why blue?  Vitriol’s extensive research department concluded it was the color most likely to match the emotional state of our “fan-base” and we were assured prompt sales.  Fingers crossed!  Some other facts about this pressing:

  1. There will be 700 records made by the infamous Pirates Press.
  2. The first 100 records will be sold as a “pre-order” and will be the color grey.
  3. You may purchase your pre-order record on May 8th at 12am PST.
  4. “PST” stands for “Pacific Standard Time.”
  5. Clicking here or on the image above will take you to the purchase portal.

Also, here are some passing thoughts re: “Anger” that may be of some interest:

  1. Yes, the phone call is real.  Tim kept it on his voicemail for months before we decided to put it on.  The story behind it is much more interesting than I can pretend to tell.
  2. Yes, my half-brother is a police officer.
  3. Also true: I am half African-American.  I sometimes think it’s funny to watch people say “nigger” out loud when we play “Half-Brother, All Cop”.
  4. Avenge Sevenfold practiced in the lock-out next to the one where we record “Anger”.
  5. Why a rhinoceros?  We gave Art Dan a few months to come up with something related to the word “anger,” but by the time we needed to go to press we had nothing.  This was my 4am mind’s solution to the problem of “cover art.”  Enjoy your tattoos!
  6. I have about 50 covers from the original press sitting at my mother’s house.  If you can come up with a creative way to use one, let me know and I’ll send it to you.

In other news, our tickets for Australia have been purchased.  Thanks to people who’ve been buying shirts and paying for the mp3’s of our record on Bandcamp.  We appreciate it.  Shows coming soon.  More projects starting…

As a “fan” and payment for the beautiful voice recording on the “Dangers” record, “Messy isnt’t It.” I,

    Ramez Silyan,

herein sign to agree this legal binding contract to receive 1 “old Anger jacket” signed by 1 Alfred Brown so I can frame it and sell it on “ebay” to the “b9.” No royalties or payments will be made out to Alfred Brown until the monies the “fan” has poured into “Dangers” has been earned back in full.
